Daniel Pollak
Bachelor of Science in Meteorology
Pennsylvania State University - 2011
Minors: Geographic Information Systems, Climatology, Geography
Welcome to my ePortfolio. My name is Daniel Pollak and I am a May 2011 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University's Meteorology program. My research interests are diverse but inter-related and include energy meteorology, climate change, renewable energy technologies and climate science communication and policy. These topics have significant physical meteorology components but also include a large sector of social science and economics. Achieving a variety of internships as well as a diverse yet also mathematically rigorous undergraduate course load, has led me to this interdisciplinary vision.
An additional reason why I would like to pursue these interests is due to the international nature of climate change and renewable energy. One of my biggest interests is to travel and meet new people (See my travel section). By fostering understanding, and incorporating ideas and needs between all communities of the world, we, as an international body of scientists, can work together to achieve a more sustainable earth.
